Thanks guys for all the support :D

Not much, but it is now spring break! Woo! Week off to work on the racer and the highboy! Money goes to the racer to get ready for the next desert race but I'm still sneaking a little into this project :D
Went and picked up some factory 16" steelies. Going old school original, with tall skinny tires. 33"x9.5" BFG'S, but not for a while.
I'll be painting them white. I did not spray that silver all over the place lol
Image
2wd chassis next to the highboy. Looks like i am going to have to part the restored chassis out, and i doubt anyone is going to want the bare frame. Waste of months of work and quite a bit of money on POR-15 and wire wheels.... oh well.
Oh and that 360 that i put on the 2wd chassis... I bought it for $200, put $200 into it, and now i am scrapping it. It won't turn over, it's rusted solid. Byebye $400 :(
Image

Oh and i drove it again today. Fired right up and purs like a kitty lol
I wonder how long it will take until i remember to start in 2nd gear.

Ryan, no need to scrap the entire 360! Sell the valve covers on ebay. You can even wire-wheel and clean up some of the other stuff and sell it on ebay, too. Is the manifold clean and sale-able? And maybe you could junk the block to get a few bucks. I took a half-ton of scrap metal to the recycle yard Saturday and got $100!

Gotta be somebody who'd like to save time on their "frame off", who'd buy the roller as is. If it were in my area I'd make an offer in a hurry. I've got a good 71 body and long box that I'd LOVE to have a 250 chassis for. Sadly you're on the wrong coast. lol

Still though, perhaps someone's got a good body and would rather put it on 3/4 ton running gear?

Anyway, good luck whatever you do. Enjoying both builds vicariously.

Never Mind, I just read your other thread lol

Hey Ryan, don't you have a posi on your 2wd chassis? May want to see if the gear ratio is the same as your 4x4. Plus you cleaned up that rear end pretty good, save you a little time and money to just swap them out if you can.

True.. I actually have the whole thing on craigslist for $60 right now and have a couple people interested in getting it out of our garage.

That's what I'm thinking. Someone should by my chassis and be half way done with their rebuild! Still, it waits in the side yard. Proobably going to be parted out soon.

Thanks... Yeah i can't believe no one wants itfor $200. I'll probably be parting it soon. bummer. Because then the frame is never going to get sold... and it will eventually be scrapped..

Yep, it had a dana 60 with 4.10's and posi. Same as the highboy gear wise. I actually put it into the racer though for tons of reasons :D
I can't wait to start restoring this highboy chassis 8)

sorry guys, not a single update. The truck has sat and is full of spider webs.
I pretty much destroyed my '71 offroad racer in the race over this weekend though and i am thinking that i might spend this week making this beast my daily driver ASAP.
we'll see. If i do get the highboy to daily driver status instead of fixing up the '71, then you will see TONS of updates on this thing soon.

Uh oh, that sounds bad. Like, body banged up and busted an axle "destroyed" or rolled ten times and landed upside down in a creek then burst into flames "destroyed"??
