City Code came by today. Apparently my truck is too disassembled to have in my driveway...
And it has to run and be registered. Well it is registered, so i just need to get it to fire and they can leave me alone and my neighbors can deal with my super ugly dismantled truck i guess.

Atleast this gives me some good motivation to transfer work time from the racer to the '69 again.
Today I stripped the f350 front end and POR-15'd it, 90% done installing the windshield, installed an instrument cluster and a nice plastic rear window

Look a lot deeper into your codes! They will tell you this, (the code enforcers interpretation of the specific code).
Find your district within your county and whether it is rural / rural-ag / residental and then take that designation and find the code.
A lot of times the code enforcement folks are just as ignorant of the actual law as we are...

The guy was really cool about it, he said he would tell his boss or whoever, that it will be in operational state shortly. He said I should really have it totally drivable, but reallllllly all i need to do is have it run, so that's what im doing. Besides, i need this motivation to get work done on this truck

Why whats wrong?

Spent all day today installing the engine, and now it is out. Since the engine was behind a manual before I guess it won't just go right in.
Oh and this is after i pulled the oil pan plug and drainned at LEAST 2 gallons of water from it. And I cranked about a half gallon out of the cylidners through the spark plug holes.

Basically, I can't have this truck right now. I have no money to finish it and it can't sit anymore with complaining neihbors. I can shove it back in the side yard but my structure got destroyed. Not to mention that the only 8 lug wheels i have (sine i just put a f350 front end on this truck) are 35" tires, i can't push this truck anymore and turn. And for the past month, all i can think about is how i need a 4x4 and i have no use for this truck being that it is 2wd... well, it would make a fairly good DD (which is what my second truck has to be) and a tow rig, but that's after i put another $2,000 into a 390 to be able to tow. And being that this truck is 2wd, i can't drag the race truck off the side of the race course, i can't trailer it back to the pits on a muddy/sandy course and I can't pull it back onto it's wheels as easy. I'm DYING for a 4x4. What i would love to do is put a 4x4 chassis under this truck, because i have done all the work to the bottom of the body i could atleast have that done. I would just need to take hte body back off htis summer and restore the 4x4 chassis.

I dont know, i just need to think. Basically this truck needs to be 4x4 and I need a money tree

Ok i think the plan is im going to keep working on this thing and get it drivable but it won't be flashy, just drivable. I don't have the money to make it nice (trim, a/c, anti-rattlers, tires/wheels, rhino-line), so im going to get it together and im looking all over for a 4x4 chassis that i can put this body onto. Then this summer I'll take the body off and restore the chassis like i did with the 2wd one.

To be drivable:
- Need to disassemble, shorten the steering column and shaft, paint, and get steering in
-Figure out what pitman arm i need, i doubt my current one will work with the f350 stuff
-I need 4 wheels, that's goign to hurt the wallet. I'll find some ugly ones, it drives me crazy i sold my nice stock f250 wheels with great tires for $40
-Need a rear window gasket, anti-rattlers for window's can wait
-Need to finish installing windshield
-Finish assembling parking brake stuff
-Speedo-cable, i need one
-Radiator needs to be installed with the engine this week, along with battery and everything to make it run
-Tranny cooler lines, i need the lines and i dont know what ill do for a cooler
-Bed needs to be bolted down, the inside will go unpainted for now
-need to mount the rear and front shocks
-driveshafts need to go in
-rest of the interior needs to go back together
-I need to finish body work on the hood, paint it and put it on
-I'll have to go trimless for now
-I am missing some brake light wiring, brake lights need to go in
-Gas tank filler neck and door needs to be installed still
more stuff im forgetting.

Just laying a list out for me to get things straight... I'll be working on it every day after school this week

, Glad to hear you're at least going to work with the '69 it would suck to just get rid of it after all the work you put into it. Things will get better for you man , just take it one step at a time and this bump-build should pan right out for ya!

Something big may be happening soon involving a highboy chassis under a '69 f100
I've got a buddy with a tow truck ready to pick up said highboy, and i have the space at my work to do the swap, with approval from the boss. Just waiting to hear back from the owner of the highboy

1969, meet your new chassis
Here it is
1972 F250 4x4 4-speed, divorced t-case, 390 that ran when parked, Mike (guy i bought it from) has owned it since '75, has one WARN hub and the other is a Ford hub, dual saddle tanks so i will be able to use my custom door on the 69's body (the other saddle will go byebye probably, not sure).

The problems: T-case won't shift and yes the tranny is in Neutral. After asking in the 4x4 section apparently i probably just need to rock hte truck back and forth, same with the hub problem.
The Ford hub won't come out of LOCK

First thing i did was try and fire it up. Hooked my battery to it and tried starting it and the wires engulfed in smoke, between the starter relay and the alternator. So im swapping the wiring out.

So I'm hoping i can unfreeze the t-case and get the passenger side Ford hub to free up. And hopefully the 390 fires right up with new wiring. Other than that the chassis should be ready for a nice new body.
Body swap starst tomorrow after i try and get it to run and drive it
