Good luck with the install, it's looking good.

This is how my engine bay looks:

I fixed all the pics earlier in the thread so they show up again :)
Sport, thanks, your engine bay looks really nice. I'm going to match mine up to the 300 mile blue bump, but since the engine going in tomorrow is only temporary, im just going to throw it to gether really. When the 390 goes in, i am going to detail it much better :)

Ryan,

I see you too have been very busy! The truck(s) are looking nice man.

Also good to see your PVC awning has held up well, (I'm working under the same type / but metal poles).
Every storm comes through I gotta' wonder if it will still be there?

Thanks, I've been watching your dually build too
The PVC awning collapsed a couple years ago actually :D Right after we put it up, a storm came and it fell on the truck. So i bought the tan one you see for $300 which is of course metal poles. That has been doing great except the roof split in half a couple weeks ago. So we used good ol' gorilla tape and it hasn't even come apart again yet! I can't believe tape is holding it together
Every storm i wonder if my tape is going to fail and drench my truck, so i still have to waterproof the truck even when it is inside the tarp garage :(

Man that truck is looking sweet. I am going to start on mine after the new year. Now that I am retired and can devote time to it, I am hoping it won't take long. Thanks for this awesome thread.

Thanks!

Update....
-Got my temporary 360 engine (until i drop in the built 390... that i am currently building, hence the temporary 360)
-I went to pull the intake and heads off the 360 to replace the gaskets, but it turned into a mess when i pulled the valve covers and found my valve stem seals EVERYWHERE. So here is the big long thread on dis-assembling, cleaning and putting back together the 360: http://fordification.com/forum/viewtopi ... 57&start=0
Basically, the 360 now has a new intake gasket, head gaskets, cleaned out the crud on the top end, cleaned oil passage ways, new valve stem seals, new valve cover gaskets, new freeze plugs, new rear main seal, and more i'm forgetting. Then i cleaned and painted it quickly.
-Stripped/POR-15'd my new Saginaw steering box, installed it
-Assembled the dash more
-Stripped/painted, and replaced my drivers side engine stand with a Saginaw style stand, relocated my passegner side stand.
-Dropped the tranny and engine in the truck, half bolted in now.
-Spent $170 with Seat belt pro's, got some sweet 3 point belts
-Ordered sound deadener
-Ordering front and rear window weatherstripping, door weatherstripping and both anti-rattle kits
Image
After a week of full on non-stop work... it is still a 300k (joke from build thread lol ), warn out, main bearing warn, silly 360 lol Hey but it looks beautiful and runs great and will hold me off until i get my 390 built!

Thanks! I'm hoping i can drive it in a couple weeks. I am pulling/buying a F350 front end today for $60. I would rather have a f350 front end because now i will need to buy new radius arm bushings and i beam pivot bushings because they are slightly bigger. Oh well, ill have some beefy 1" king pins on this hauler :D If i eventually make this truck a 4x4 then i am going to put the f350 front end on the race truck.
But anyways then i just have to plumb the brakes, install driveshafts, hook up 360 and i can drive it!

Nice progress! I wish I had some more free time to do the things I want to do to my truck (more free time than I have anyways). Did you make any decisions on exhaust yet?

Thanks,
For exhaust I am probably just going to go down to my dad's buddy at the local exhaust shop since i will most likely get it all done for free like i have with all my other exhaust work, have him mandrel bend a simple Y pipe style exhaust probably using the connector you linked me on ebay. Then go into a 3" in, 3" out dynomax ultra flow... we shall see

Oh and today i picked up a complete F350 front end! beams, hubs, rotors, calipers, radius arms, steering linkage, all that good stuff. Now i have a lot of dis-assembly, grinding, por-15ing and re-assembly to do. Then install it.

Also I got my sound deadener today so i got half the lfloor done... And my dad brought home some nice black mats that i am going to cut up for a firewall cover and for temporary flooring. Then I will get my bench seat in there!

-Removed the dash pad, sold it. I'm going to dashpad-less. I like it way better
-Sound deadened the floor under the seat, in the passenger door and the firewall. I didn't have enough for everything right now so i did the spots that it won't be hard to go back and sound deaden. I sitll need to do the drivers door, rest of the floor, headliner, back of cab, cab corners.
-Cut out some black mats (budget carpet) that i got for free and layed them out. I still need to hang the mats to the firewall, and still need to attach the carpet pieces that i cut out to cover the kick panels too.
-Drug the seat out of the garage, cleaned it up and installed it
-Pulled my nice f100 front end and sold it
-Picked up a F350 front end for $60. Next thing to do is to completely disassemble it all, strip it, and por-15. THen put it in the truck. Then put more of the '71 f250's spare wheels on the '69 f100 (this truck).

I think that truck is asking for black velour seat covers.

:D Yeah the seat is definately going to get a really nice cover done in the future. For now though I'll rock the faded redness :D
