I would say that is probably the best original crew interior any of us will ever see in a truck that has actually been used. Most of them were bought by the government or big companies to carry people, equipment, and get worked to death (but you already know that). Mine was a Nevada Dept of Energy truck, and although it was well maintained, the interior is a mess. It's got a few dents, but being a western truck it has almost zero rust. Was your truck civilian owned? I always like to hear the history on these trucks...

My '70 Crew Cab was ordered from a dealer in Nebraska and was delivered in June of 1970. The truck was used quite sparingly throughout its life by the Original purchaser and his family until 2003 when it was sold by the Original Purchaser's estate. At the time of that sale, the speedometer was reading 61,000 actual miles. Truck had never been repainted and the body was showing some rust, but the interior was excellent. Aside from the exterior rust, the body was excellent and had not suffered any damage due to collision over the years. The original owner was a medical doctor who purchased it to be able to make house calls in the remote areas of farming and to insure his being able to get to emergencies should they arise. Hence, the 4 wd. Truck was used as a daily driver for about a year after purchase and then restoration was began. Took a little over two years to do a "Frame Off" restoration, complete rust removal and repair, and complete paint job back to the original color, "Yucatan Gold." Restoration is fully documented with over 130 photos and all receipts for parts and services. Restoration was completed in the fall of 2006, about three years ago to the day. The most difficult part of the Restoration was keeping it "stock." Truck was kept exactly as it was ordered and used for its entire life. There has been two minor changes recently made, one of which is the addition of a Sony cassette am/fm radio with 6 x 9 inch 3 way speakers installed in the rear door pillars. The original radio is bagged and saved for future install if desired and it was working fine when removed. The present radio is an old 1980's model that fits properly in the dash exactly like the original factory one did. Because the truck is a "Custom" it came with only one horn installed on the right side of the radiator. I have added a factory harness for the dual horns and the second horn. This would have been an option and was not listed on the Original Invoice and was not installed. Otherwise, it is completely stock but for the LT 235 x 85 R16 Tubeless tires and wheels which are an upgrade from the original 7.50 x 16 tube type split rim tires and wheels. I have a complete Air Conditioning assembly and power brake components which could be installed. These are shelved and available with no plans to install them. "Stock" is the condition preferred and that would be more of a deviation from the Original Invoice and that is not planned....at least at this time. The future will tell the final story. There is the history of my '70 High Boy Crew Cab.
