My 72 F-100 Custom Shortbed
Well, I ended up buying this truck off an instructor here at school who's leaving to work on a Pro Stock team; He didn't want to sell, but he really couldn't tote it to Charlotte, either.
Anyway, here she is, "The Green Mamba," as she's been nicknamed by the guys at school. It's a 72 Custom SWB, bought new at Waldrop Ford, Liberty, Texas. My teacher was the second owner; the truck's original owners were a father and son carpentry team, and they just used the truck in their hometown of La Grange, and trips to Houston.
Damn near everything is original on it, including the paint and interior. I have the actual buildsheet that my teacher rescued from the backseat, as well as the original owner's manual and sales brochure.
She has a 240 L6/3 speed manual, and Ford 9" rear with 3.70 gears. It runs like a Swiss watch! It's actually so quiet and smooth at stoplights that I have a hard time hearing the engine enough to let the clutch out smoothly.
The body and interior are super tight, with no rattles or squeeks to be found. The truck needs some little things mechanically done, and the tool box has to go!
She's a runner for sure...
Nick,
The new guy...
P.S. If anyone wants this toolbox, I'd give it up for FREE to a Fordification member near Houston; just drive over to my place and I'll help you load it up. It needs a coat of paint, but the locks and latches on both sides work perfectly.

Can someone resize some pictures for me? I don't have the ability to do it. I can e-mail the pics to someone, but it says the file size is too big to post here.

Welcome, can't wait to see some pics.
Just moved back to Tucson from Spring, and miss it more than we thought we would. Anyway, glad to have you here.

That is probably the cleanest original truck I ever saw! Unbelievable find. I hope you restore to original.

That is a nice truck! Almost ready for the Americruise Tour! (Which as I type this is having their evening car show at a motel about two miles from here. Some nice clean cars and trucks there, too!)
